Valerian (Valeriana officinalis)

Valerian is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Caprifoliaceae family that grows wild in damp places, along ditches and watercourses. It has small white or pinkish flowers gathered in clusters, while its dried roots have a strong, distinctive smell.

On this page you'll find all Naturalma products made with valerian roots:

  • Alcohol-free mother tincture: valerian mother tincture with roots at 10% in vegetable glycerine and water, made with Extranatur, the patented extraction method developed by Naturalma. The label dose is 40 drops (2 ml) in a glass of water, one to three times a day; 2 ml contain 200 mg of valerian. 60, 120, 200 and 500 ml bottles.
  • Alcoholic mother tincture: a low-alcohol hydroalcoholic tincture, closer to the herbal tradition, with valerian roots at 10%. 120 ml bottle.
  • Tablets: valerian roots at 60%, in jars of 120 and 300 tablets. The label dose is 2 tablets once or twice a day; 4 tablets contain 1200 mg of valerian.

Good to know before use. Valerian tinctures and tablets should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. The alcohol-free tincture is not suitable for children under 12; the alcoholic tincture and the tablets are for adult use only. Full warnings are on each product page.

The tinctures and tablets are food supplements. Naturalma mother tinctures are made to our own recipe by specialist laboratories, always starting from the dried plant.
