Pine (Pinus mugo and Pinus sylvestris)

Mountain pine and Scots pine are conifers of the Pinaceae family. Mountain pine grows at altitude, often as a low, branching shrub; Scots pine is easy to recognise by the reddish bark on the upper part of its trunk.

• Scots pine essential oil: distilled from the needles of Pinus sylvestris.
• Mountain pine essential oil: distilled from the needles of the mountain pine, also called mugo pine (Pinus mugo, also known as Pinus montana or Pinus pumilio).

Both come in 10 or 30 ml amber glass bottles. They are natural food flavourings: a few drops are enough to flavour 100 g of food.
