Hornbeam – Bach Flowers (Carpinus betulus)

Hornbeam is one of the 38 emotional flowers or Bach flowers. It is made from the flowers of the common hornbeam (Carpinus betulus). Bach placed it in the group ‘Uncertainty’.

According to Bach, this is the flower for mental tiredness at the thought of the day ahead, when the drive to get started is missing. Hornbeam wood is extremely hard and was once used for cogs and tool handles.

You can choose between two versions, both in a 30 ml amber glass bottle:

  • With brandy: the original preparation, with water and alcohol from brandy.
  • Alcohol-free: with vegetable glycerine and water, for those who prefer it without alcohol.

The directions on the label are the same for both versions: 4 drops directly into the mouth, one to three times a day, at any time.

On the Bach Flowers page you'll find all 38 flowers, divided into Bach's seven groups.
